Dear Serpell,
Hong Kong Salaries Comission
Expatriation Pay
e spoke over the telephone and you asked me to let you have a note on Hong Kong telegram No.48. e would propose a telegraphic reply to Hong Kong as in attached draft.
The details of the Malayan proposals in Governor-General's telegram No.2 of the 3rd January are in some respects rather complicated (e.g. the difference in £l between the platformas for men and women at the £700 salary level), but Hong Kong has accepted them and we feel we should not delay a decision on this matter, which affects a considerable number of officers, any longer.
I hope you will be able to give me your
concurrence by telephone.
Yours sincerely,
D.R. SEKPELL, movie, 0..B.
